Have you posted a listing that’s been unsold for a while? Below you’ll find some helpful tips that can increase the chances of selling the item you’re trying to sell.

Title

A good title describes the product in just a few words. A good example:

“Gibson Les Paul Standard '50s 2022 - Dirty Lemon Burst”

The title above includes the brand, model, finish, and year.

By entering an accurate and descriptive title, like the example above, you dramatically increase the likelihood that the product will appear in searches within Noiz as well as on Google. In contrast, a generic title like “Guitar for sale” doesn’t attract clicks and doesn’t contain the necessary information for the listing to appear in relevant searches.

You don’t need to include the product’s condition in the title, nor whether you accept trades, as these details are automatically displayed based on the relevant fields in the listing form.
You can read more about titles in the article at regulations.

Price

A product’s price plays a decisive role in the success of a listing and must be both fair and attractive to potential buyers. There are many cases where used products—often visibly “worn out” from use—are priced at 80% or even 90% of the price of a new product. In such cases, these listings usually remain unsold for long periods of time, even for years.

The reason is simple: when comparing their options, a potential buyer will prefer to spend a little more to purchase a brand-new product, with a full warranty, in better cosmetic condition, and without the risk associated with a used purchase. When the price difference between new and used is small, the incentive to buy secondhand is essentially eliminated.

A realistic and well-researched price increases interest and clicks on the listing, boosts the chances of closing the sale, and builds trust with the buyer, which helps you “build” your profile on Noiz as a trustworthy seller.

Selling Abroad

You may have noticed the new “Shipping” field, which allows you to let buyers know that you sell not only in Europe but also worldwide.

This dramatically increases your chances of making a sale, since you’re tapping into a massive global market where there are many times more potential buyers.

In the two weeks since the new platform went live, more than 10 transactions with international users have been completed with complete success. 100% of international users found the relevant listing through a search (which is why we mentioned the title above).

You’re probably wondering about the procedural aspects of international sales, so we recommend reading the relevant article at Secure Remote Transactions.

Photos & Videos

The more photos you upload, the better your chances of making a sale.

Potential buyers want a complete picture of what they’re buying. For example, if the product has any scratches, these should be visible in the photos.

Some tips:

  • Use natural lighting instead of a flash

  • The area should be tidy

  • Take plenty of high-resolution photos from many different angles to provide a comprehensive view of the item

  • If there are any marks, take close-up photos
    so they are clearly visible

  • The photos must be original and not taken from the Internet
(there is a relevant Noiz policy)

In addition to photos, you can easily upload a video file. While it’s not required, we recommend giving it a try, as it adds another dimension to the product presentation and allows potential buyers to get a “taste” of its sound.

Listings that include authentic and clear photos and videos significantly increase the chances of a sale.

Description

The most important thing in the description is to be honest about the item’s condition and history. Describe in detail the model, where and how it has been used, and its service history. Avoid generic descriptions like “guitar for sale.”

Use the description as a brief presentation, answering some common questions you might receive about the item and noting any unique features it may have.

Communication

Buyers tend to choose sellers who inspire trust, even if the price of the product is slightly higher than in comparable listings. A credible and well-crafted profile, combined with effective communication, can make all the difference and lead to a successful sale more quickly.

For this reason, avoid one-word or rushed replies, and be sure to provide comprehensive and clear answers to every question you receive. Honesty plays a crucial role here as well: clearly describe the product’s condition and don’t withhold any details. This way, you not only increase your chances of making a sale—since you’re building trust with the buyer—but you’re also gradually establishing a strong and reliable profile as a Noiz user, which will benefit you in your future listings as well.

Bump-Up!

Noiz lets you bump up your listings once every 24 hours. Bumping up a listing moves it higher in the search results, increasing clicks and thus the likelihood of a sale.

Bump-ups are available for free. For additional promotion options, check out related article.
